At SI Newcastle Club’s 79th Charter Lunch, 29th October 2017 James, a volunteer with GNAA gave an interesting presentation, highlighting that the charity needs £4.5m each year to run its current service. Let’s not forget they are delivering a life-saving service run entirely by public donations. Their forward thinking has seen the .BLOOD ON BOARD’ initiative where blood can be given at the roadside, increasing the chance of survival. With 71 lives being saved so far this initiative is being copied by other services. They are looking towards being world leaders at delivering pre-hospital care. SI Newcastle’s retired members programme donated £250 to the charity. James, an engineer has recently been accepted as a recruit to be a paramedic – WELL DONE JAMES!
