Repair Cafe Whitstable

Getting ready for summer?  Finding things that need repairing?

Join us at Whitstable Repair Cafe on Saturday 9th May at The Umbrella Centre, Oxford Street, Whitstable.

The session will run from 10 am to 1 pm with our busiest time 10am to 11.30am. ITs generally quieter between 11.30am and 1pm. We welcome a donation for each repair to support our running costs

The food market will be running in the upstairs hall so you can grab a coffee or something to eat, and parking is available at the nearby charity car park for a small donation.

Our repairers should be able to help with:
* small electrical items ️
* kitchen knives + garden tools sharpening
* carpentry and wooden items
* small bicycle repairs
* general and household items
* sewing, clothes and accessories
*beaded  jewellery repairs

The Repair Cafe is run by volunteers from Whitstable and District Soroptimist International Club www.sigbi.org/whitstable and talented volunteers from our local area. See all 2026 dates for Whitstable Repair Cafe below.

We are excited to announce that we have been busy planning a new Repair Cafe for Whitstable, Herne Bay and surrounding villages, aligned with the international Repair Cafe organisation, www.repaircafe.org/en/

We’re now ready to announce our launch on Saturday November 8th 2025, at the Whitstable Umbrella Centre, Oxford St CT5 1DD and are inviting any interested people to come along on, with or without an item to repair, to have a chat and find out how it all works.

We are urgently looking for repairers who can help us in this venture. If you have, or know of anyone who has, the skills and knowledge to repair broken items and can spare a few hours once a month please get in touch.

We plan to run the Repair Cafe on the second Saturday of every month, excluding December and August, from 10am – 1pm.

We understand that repairers may not be able to come every month and we will post which repairers will be available, a couple of days before each event here, and on our facebook page.

We look forward to your support for this project and to seeing you at our launch
