About Our Club

Our Club is one of 15 in the South Lancashire Region which is in the Federation of Great Britain and Ireland – One of the 5 Federations throughout the world.

The Wigan Club was Chartered in 1941 and hence has completed more than 80 years of active service to the Soroptimist movement. SI Southport is our mother club and SI Leigh is our daughter club.

We are a very friendly,  active club and warmly welcome any one who wishes to join us.  Please contact us via the Contact page for more information.

We hold our Club Meetings on the 2nd Monday of each month at Wigan and Leigh Hospice, Kildare Street, Hindley, Wigan. We arrive from 7pm for a coffee and catch up. The main meeting then starts promptly at 7.30 pm . Members who are unable to join us in person are welcome to join us online via Teams, from7.30 pm.

At our Club meetings we invite  representatives from the charities we support to speak to us about their needs, hopes and successes. We also plan for future events, fund raising and projects,  in line with Soroptimist International’s objectives  to enable, educate and empower.
