This has been a very challenging time globally but all our members have been amazing. True friendship and kindness has shone through during this extremely difficult experience. We have even found unexpected delights as communities come together and where there is time to stand and stare. Like many at this time, we are overcoming technical challenges and having virtual meetings via Zoom on a regular basis. Those members unable to join us are contacted afterwards via our ‘buddy system’. This works very well and means all our members can keep in touch. Another way of keeping in touch is our WhatsApp Sorops Group where we share many hilarious videos, jokes and quizzes to keep us amused! President Gwen Ellis Jones walked the length of Offa’s dyke in stages over the year to raise money for her President’s Fund which will be shared by her 2 nominated charities. These are Bangor Samaritans and GISDA,  a local charity for young homeless people. She trampled through mud, snow, ice and storms as well as seeing some beautiful scenery in fairer weather. Members Sian, Lin and Olga joined Gwen for the last mile of her endeaour despite the best attempt of the Beast from the East freezing the path into Prestatyn. Congratulations Gwen, well done from everyone in the Club 👣👣👣

Teddy bears picnic / treasure hunt. A fund raiser and all teddies were given to local dementia units. Purchased the construction of a well in Cambodia so that families can benefit from a clean water well that we have funded. This ensures their future health. We have now bought four wells. Each year some of the members attend the Llangollen eisteddfod and promote the work of Soroptimists in our tent. Ciss and Enid regularly went on our behalf. Summer supper is a fund raising event for Ty Gobaith  organised by Jenny and Vicki. Jenny also had a plant sale. Festival 6 – members collect discarded items which include Tents: Sleeping Bags; Insulating Mats; Camping chairs; Tent Pegs and a large amount of food. As much as we can carry. Everything that is collected is taken to St Mary’s hostel for the homeless in Bangor. Seize the sandwich
