Charities that we support
Oaks, Sierra Leone
Overseas Aid for the Kids of Sierra Leone – The founders of this charity are based on the Wirral. They have built a school in Sierre Leone and we have supported their work for several years. We have collected teaching aids, provided sanitary bags for girls, templates to make sanitary pads and most recently have donated a lump sum in memory of a deceased member to provide another classroom. We are also supporting their work by attending their annual ball this year.
All members of SI Bebington have trained as Dementia Friends. 2 members are happy to visit other clubs and offices to explain about dementia and how as individuals we can help. Members knitted twiddle muffs for our local hospital.
We recently held a table top sale to raise funds to buy 2 toilets in Ivory Coast, Africa whilst some of us tried out the facilities at the Malta Conference!!
