The criteria for the award are:
• A nominated woman should live, work or have been born in the area covered by the Canterbury City Council Administrative Boundaries Information (canterbury.gov.uk)
Postal codes: CT1, CT2, CT3 and CT4
• A woman can be nominated for her contribution to the community, to improving the role of women, showing personal courage or outstanding professional achievement.
In putting forward a nomination the following points might be helpful
Has the woman you are putting forward for nomination:
• Strived to help others living in Canterbury?
• Improved her local community in Canterbury?
• Improved her workplace for the benefit of colleagues?
• Inspired or encouraged young women to strive for excellence in work?
• Achieved something extraordinary despite the odds?
• Volunteered her time to charity in an unpaid capacity or carried out
a charitable act?
• Made people proud to be associated with her?
• Gone above and beyond your expectations?
• Does this candidate stand out from all others in what she has done
and how she is regarded?
Judging
Please note that judging decisions are derived from the information provided by the nominator, however we may try to find out more information from other sources. The decisions of the judges will be based on the quality of the nomination, not the quantity of nominations we receive for one person.

We propose to present the award, which is £100 donation to the winner’s charity of choice in June. Full details will be supplied nearer the time.
