Maryhill Integration Network

SI Crieff is very proud of its relationship with the Maryhill Integration Network (MIN). MIN brings refugee, migrant and local communities together through, art, social, cultural and educational groups and projects, offering people a chance to learn new skills, meet new people, share experiences and take part in worthwhile activities to improve their lives and the life of their communities.

The organisation hosted a special virtual event to celebrate Robert Burns.  The event was an opportunity for people to share poems, music, songs and haggis recipes from their home countries.

SI Crieff President Iris King said “what a multi-cultural event it turned out to be.  We were treated to music, words, and recipes for haggis from different nations, but what enchanted me was the friendship and respect shown by everyone throughout the evening.   I was delighted to see the small children joining in the dancing and really enjoying the music.  My favourite part of the evening that I really enjoyed was the very moving rendition of “”Auld Lang Syne” sung at the end of the event.   Due to technical difficulties the whole choir did not perform, but the ones that did certainly entertained us, and I’m sure the whole choir singing together must be fantastic as they have lovely voices.

Again, this involvement with this group was as a member of SI Crieff, and it was a great way to see how people working together can make a difference.   So please continue with our good work and continue to make a difference to the lives of women and girls.”
