Each year, our club chooses projects to work on that tackle one of the five Programme Areas:

  • Economic Empowerment
  • Education
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Food Security and Healthcare
  • Violence and Conflict Resolution

Last year, we supported The Lily Pad Appeal https://chartwellcancertrust.co.uk/lily-pad-appeal/, raising funds for a new integrated paediatric ward at Croydon University Hospital. “Despite having to halt all traditional charity fund-raising activities in March because of the covid-19 pandemic, the Lily Pad Appeal at the Chartwell Cancer Trust has told supporters that work has begun on the multi-million-pound redevelopment of a site within Croydon’s largest hospital, with an expected completion date of spring 2021.

We also supported Multiple Systems Atrophy Trust https://www.msatrust.org.uk/, raising a whopping £7,200 which went towards funding a nurse’s salary and expenses for two months.

This year our president has chosen http://www.caysh.org/, a charity close to her heart, “working with young people facing homelessness in London, providing safe homes and support to enable them to achieve their potential.”

All our work is linked to the Sustainable Development Goals whether it’s local, national or international. All projects work towards ending poverty, eradicating hunger, providing education for all and preserving the environment.

Here are some of the other projects that we have supported over the years:
