From a hugely elated Conference Chair, her Committee and the hundred and more Conference Makers who rose to the occasion magnificently to make NewcastleGateshead a truly wonderful experience for the delegates and especially for President Pat, – my heartfelt thanks.
If you were there you don’t need me to tell you about the Keynote speakers or the Red Square event where the Mayor of Gateshead was pictured with so many delegates or the Progamme Action Day or the varied entertainment. If you couldn’t make it to Gateshead the blogs up on this Conference website will give you a flavour of what you missed.
The weather was on our side for most of Conference, chilly but lots of sunshine. The panorama of the Quaysides at night is a sight to behold, one of which I never tire.
Soroptimists love to party and there were many and varied events on Saturday might.
Sunday morning saw members of the Conference Committee up bright and early and back at the Sage ensuring that all vestiges of our presence there were well and truly tidied away and packages boxed and labelled for the courier to be sent back to the SIGBI office.
So many people to thank and I sat up until the early hours this morning doing just that; if I didn’t get around to you yet be assured that I will.
Was it all worthwhile? You must be the judge of that and we look forward to reading your comments and views on the Evaluation Forms that you will find on this website.
Would we do it again? Ah; that’s a loaded question!
Finally, we send our good wishes to President Margaret Oldroyd and her Conference Committee for an equally enjoyable Conference 2014.
