Amanda Baker
Amanda is a former solicitor, turned ground-breaking character-based comedy poet and writer. She traces her love of rhythm, rhyme and word-play to being brought up on Dr Seuss books. She grew up in a mixed family – socially and racially – and was surrounded by many different voices, copying them from an early age.
Having braved the Edinburgh Fringe Free Festival 2010, performed at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal, the famous Hull Truck Theatre and the Theatre Royal Stratford, East London, she is taking Comedy Performance Poetry to places it’s seldom been before.
