Venture Scotland Talk at October meeting

At a club meeting in October, Katie from Venture Scotland, a local charity supporting young folks aged 16-30 who want to make positive life changes, came to speak with us. Venture Scotland was founded in 1987 by a group of young Raleigh International volunteers who understood the benefits of natural and outdoor spaces on an individual’s mental health and wellbeing.

Katie outlined the progressive, four-stage personal development course, up to 12 months long that helps the young adults improve their physical, mental and emotional well-being and achieve lasting change. Over the past 35 years they have become Scotland’s only provider of long-term, outdoor-based, personal development for young adults. Claudia, in a video, told us of her experiences that led her to Venture Scotland who supported her to make positive changes in her life, which have led to her becoming a volunteer for Venture Scotland.

It was a really interesting session about a great service for young adults. facebook.com/venturescotland
