Tomorrow’s Women Glasgow (TWG) is an innovative and unique multi agency centre based in Gorbals, Glasgow. The staff work with women with complex needs who are involved in the criminal justice system. The service offers the women a safe space to talk about their needs and to address issues that prevent them from living positive healthy lives. Members of Soroptimist International Glasgow City have been supporting TWG since 2013 and at a recent club meeting the members had the opportunity to meet two of the women being supported by the staff of TWG. Team Leader Anne and Housing Officer Andrea also provided an update of the service and President Elect Myrtle presented a cheque to be used to fund a pampering session for the women.

This year we have supported the Tomorrow’s Women project in Glasgow. The project works with women who have been in prison to reduce offending, and bring about a change in their lives. The club supports the project by providing toiletries, underwear, clothing, tinned food and lots of other basic items which the women need as part of their reintegration into the community.

Aileen and Beth visited the ‘Tomorrow’s Women’ project on 15 Apr and took along some of the goods donated by S.I. Glasgow City members. These included toiletries, cosmetics, pants, sanitary items, and some chocolates. They had a chat to one of the staff, and met one of the service users, who told them how happy she was as she had just had her young son returned to her. They had a look round the project rooms, and were impressed by them, especially the newly set up beauty salon. They even had a go in the massage chair! Picture shows Aileen ‘enjoying’ a massage.
