Parkinson’s UK Sheffield Branch presentation

This year’s charity is the local branch of Parkinson’s UK. Members listened to a talk by Bhanu Ramaswamy, independent Physiotherapist and a national leader in this long term neurological condition. Bhanu described how the condition affected the body, andy why each person who has it varies in their symptoms. The club is supporting a new project this year – Dance for Parkinson’s. Ben, is almost qualified as a physiotherapist and has a background in dance. Ben would like to put his skills into action  – and the local branch of the charity are exploring the possibility of dance classes. Together SI Hallamshire and Parkinson’s UK have arranged a ‘Dancathon’ day in October when Ben has arranged for several dance modes to be ‘sampled’.

The presentation ended in some interactive movements by our members. Wether we could dance or not did not matter – but we certainly had a laugh!
