SI Hallamshire (Sheffield) recently raised funds for the Club’s chosen charity, Sheffield’s Alzheimer Society. Members held a car boot sale at the Lowedges Festival on Saturday, 15th August and raised £150. You can see the fun they had!

This was the third of 3 cheques for £1000 presented over 3 years to our charity WORK.  President Angela Karck and President Elect Sue Smith presented it to Glynis Phillkirk, Marketing Manager of WORK.  Glynis was delighted to receive the cheque.  She described the redevelopment and expansion of the premises to include better work shops and toilets.  Work is expected to commence this summer following fund raising and detailed planning.  Staff and Students are very excited and greatly looking forward to their improved and upgraded accommodation.  Members of SI Hallamshire-Sheffield enjoyed a light supper and expressed their pleasure in knowing that the funds raised would be used in such a positive manner.  They had found it good fun undertaking various events to raise the donation.  

President’s message Welcome to the web site for Soroptimist International of Hallamshire (Sheffield)   SI of Hallamshire was chartered in 1971, the second Club in Sheffield and members are looking forward to celebrating our 40th anniversary during 2011.   We are an active and friendly Club with members coming from a variety of professions and businesses bringing a diversity of experience, knowledge and skills to the Club.  We are always pleased to welcome new members wishing to join us in promoting the Objects and Purposes of Soroptimism.  We are very much aware of demands upon women’s time and the pressures of home and work.  It is recognised that time for some members is limited and we welcome any level of participation a person can offer.   Each year the President selects a charity for which the Club will fundraise.  This year I have selected the
