Welcome to the web site for Soroptimist International of Hallamshire (Sheffield)
SI of Hallamshire was chartered in 1971, the second Club in Sheffield and members are looking forward to celebrating our 40th anniversary during 2011.
We are an active and friendly Club with members coming from a variety of professions and businesses bringing a diversity of experience, knowledge and skills to the Club. We are always pleased to welcome new members wishing to join us in promoting the Objects and Purposes of Soroptimism. We are very much aware of demands upon women’s time and the pressures of home and work. It is recognised that time for some members is limited and we welcome any level of participation a person can offer.
Each year the President selects a charity for which the Club will fundraise. This year I have selected the Alzheimers Society which works to provide information and support for people affected and their relatives. Throughout the year our activities will be aimed at raising money for the Society.
Club meetings are held twice a month (except August and December) at Shirley House, 31 Psalter Lane, Sheffield S11 8YL. Business meetings are held on the second Tuesday and social occasions, which are very varied, are held on the last Tuesday of the month. Meetings commence at 7.30pm.
I know that this year promises to be busy and constructive and I look forward to working with all our members to uphold the principals of Soroptimism.

At our AGM our new President thanked the Club and distributed bags of chocolate bars to members, knowing the way to Soroptimist International’s heart!
