A beautiful sunlit evening provided the perfect setting for the Annual General Meeting and Change of Office. Outgoing President Sue Williams conducted the AGM before passing the Chain of Office to Pat Shore. President Pat thanked Sue for all her hard work over the last year and then presented Nicola Harding with the President Elect Badge of Office and Ellie Foster with the Vice President Elect Badge. Pat and Sue jointly presented the Long Service Awards to Janet Haywood and Dorothy Taylor.
Pat’s address to the Club outlined that we will concentrate on raising funds for the local Women’s Refuge and also for the Meru Garden Project – Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland’s main project. Pat will launch the Young Women in the Community Award this year and also is keen that the Club continues to raise awareness through lobbying and action with regard to issues that affect the lives of women and girls.
