A surprise donation of 36 balls of double knitting and Aran wool was made to Medway and Maidstone Soroptimists knowing we would make good use of it.
Since the beginning of 2026, Jane Barnes has been busy knitting every day, either snoods or beanie hats for the Blythswood Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2026.
So far, she has knitted 50 snoods and 10 beanie hats, suitable for women and teenage girls using the donated wool.
Jane will continue knitting in coming months. As in 2025, they ran out of scarves at the Blythswood Collection Point in Maidstone. These are some of the essential items put in each shoebox sent to vulnerable children and adults Eastern Europe .
