SI Port Talbot marked International Women’s Day with a special speaker breakfast held on Saturday 7th March. Members and guests gathered for a morning of conversation, inspiration and reflection on the achievements and contributions of women.
The event welcomed guest speaker Tracey Breheny, one of the Directors within the Welsh Government responsible for strategy and corporate business. Tracey shared insights into her career within government, speaking about her professional journey, the experiences that have shaped her leadership, and the importance of resilience and determination in progressing within the public sector.
Guests were particularly interested to hear about Tracey’s progression throughout her career and the valuable lessons she has learned along the way. She spoke about the support and flexibility she received as a young woman in government and later as a mother in her career. She highlighted the importance of confidence, perseverance and supporting other women in the workplace, themes that strongly resonated with the spirit of International Women’s Day.
The morning provided a wonderful opportunity for members and guests to come together, celebrate women’s achievements and reflect on the ongoing work needed to create equal opportunities for women in all areas of society.
SI Port Talbot would like to thank Tracey Breheny for sharing her experiences and insights, the Venue, St. Theodore’s Church Hall, and everyone who attended the event and helped make the morning such a success. Events such as this continue to highlight the Soroptimist commitment to empowering women and girls locally, nationally and globally.
