“Bring Back the Bees” – Environment and Education
A project to raise awareness of the significant role that bees play in our everyday lives
- The Project was launched over 10 years ago and we have visited schools across the counties of Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy.
- The purpose was to communicate the important role that bees play in our everyday life, through a variety of workshops, including honey tasting, candle making and worksheets.
- A wide range of books and learning materials about bees were given to each school so that the teachers can continue to use them in the classroom.
- Well over 1,200 children have been made more aware of the importance of bees.
- The “Bee” team have worked hard to promote sustainability of the environment and educate children that without bees much of the produce and food we enjoy would not be obtainable.
- We have also given talks to women’s groups and attended several country fairs including the well known Honey Fair in Conwy.
