2019/20 events listings

Ongoing, roughly 2-monthly

 

We hold regular Saturday coffee meet and greets, usually at a quieter coffee shop in central Rugby. These are for prospective new members who would like to find out more about the organisation in an informal setting. Email wendy.sorop@ntlworld.com for details of the next event.

Throughout the year,we collect old bras and use them to traise funds for Refuge. See our page for a list of donation points. If you would like to hold a one off workplace collection, we will be happy to provide A4 posters you can print, and collect bags from you. Every item helps, so workplaces big and small are very welcome to help!

 

May 5th

 

80th anniversary. A day of celebration to mark 80 years of Rugby Soroptimists, including an optional service, lunch, and a tour of Rugby School.

A social event for new and prospective members. Enjoy a drink, some nibbles, some good company, and learn more about soroptimists! Email wendy.sorop@ntlworld.com.

 

July 21st

 

At our garden party, you can enjoy the sun (fingers crossed!) Open to members and friends, this event will be raising funds for the Hill Street Youth and Community Centre.

We will be marking the International Day of Literacy by giving out children’s books in Rugby Central shopping mall. Come and see us for free books – or come and help us man the stand for an hour or more!

 

Sept 18th

 

We’re delighted to once again be joining with Wanda Fashion for a fashion show in Dunchurch Village Hall. Come and see cub members modelling the latest autumn winter fashions, enjoy a glass of wine, and see if you are lucky in the raffle!

 

October 1st

We will be holding a coffee morning. Enjoy the and cakes with friends new and old, and donate to Breast Cancer research. And of course, a raffle!

 

November 5th

Rugby Soroptimists will be laying a wreath at the War Memorial Gates (by Queens Jubilee Centre) as part of the official Rugby memorial day.

We will be at Rugby Central shopping mall gathering signatures for the Humanity and Inclusion petition. Pop in and sign – or help us by spending an hour collecting signatures.

March 6th

 

An evening for International Women’s Day, celebrating the women of Rugby in music, food and dance. As well as pamper stations, we will have organisations who can help your physical and mental health. We will also be showcasing local businesswomen. Contact us if you are interested in a stand, or sharing a demonstration.
