Members of SI Rugby attended the 3rd conference on Feminism held in the Hilton London Metropole hotel. Along with SI Chelmsford they had a stand and spoke to many women about Soroptimism and Soroptimists. Several women gave their email addresses to get more information about the organisations. We met another Soroptimist who was there but on another stand. Abigail Hunt, daughter of past member Leigh Hunt was speaking at the conference

A cheque and a car load of materials, books and toys was taken to SI Thames Valley to go to Sierra Leone Kori Valley. Janet with fellow Soroptimist from SI Slough, Maidenhead and Windsor delivered the cheque which will go to help the children who have suffered from Ebola. A very successful evening held at Dunchurch Village Hall raised over £770 for the children who have suffered because of the Ebola Crisis. We had 50 lots and only 5 didn’t sell. Thanks to everyone who attended and bought and thanks to everyone who made lovely puddings.

17 young carers aged 6 to 12 from  Rugby enjoyed a day at Draycote Water bug hunting and learning about water and how we should look after our vital resources. After a morning chasing moths, butterflies, grasshoppers, crickets and many other things, they had a picnic tea of sandwiches, lemonade, crisps and cakes. Oh so healthy but what a treat. We also organised some games for them and they all went home with a goody bag which contained some I-spy books.
