SI Rugby”s 4 presidents are delighted to welcome Suki, Ros, and Joy as members of SI Rugby. The club held a very successful New Members Evening and several women expressed a wish to join us. The evening was spent filling backpacks for homeless women in the Rugby area. They were filled with toiletries and goodies to help them especially in the cold weather. £201 was raised.  A coffee morning was held to raise money for Handicap International. HIUK (Handicap International UK) provides limbs for people who have lost theirs through stepping landmines and cluster bombs. It costs £30 for one artificial limb. While one limb will last white a while for an adult, because children grow they need to change their limbs every 6/7 months. The government is going to match pound for pound any money raised before July so our £201 becomes £402 plus it was gift aided which makes a grand total of;   £452

It was a lovely day in downtown Draycote. The gazeboes were up, the cakes were out and people began to walk. When we have a total of how much we raised it will be posted on this page. Thank you to everyone who walked, stopped, ate the cakes and gave a donation. The weather was lovely. It was very busy at Draycote Water. There had been a 10 mile run, a sailing event as well as all the regular walkers, runners, cyclists and fishermen. A big than you to Ian the Draycote Ranger, Nothing was too much trouble.    Watch this space for the Total amount raised.    £1260 Well Done

Fantastic evening with a full hall. 130 people attended our 50’s evening, There was lots to eat, to drink and good music. Music was provided by The Lawrence Sheriff School Big Band under their expert conductor Jon Watson. This was followed by a disco into the night. Thanks to Wendy and her team who organised the event. The proceeds are going to the Hill Street Summer School for disadvantaged children.

Members attended an all day event at the Benn Hall in Rugby. There were 50 stands from different volunteer groups. Many town councillors were present and we made a lot of contacts which was good. Delighted that many people wanted to know more about Soroptimists and we might gain some new members.
