Due to closure of many sectors that employ mostly women, the livelihood of countless women were affected by the Covid19 pandemic. The club supported the global drive to encourage persons to vaccinate against the Covid19 virus. We recognized that vaccine hesitancy was prevalent and sought to raise awareness and advocate for the importance of vaccination. In June 2021 we enlisted the services of local popular celebrity Ding Dong (Andre Houlder) to make a short video educating and encouraging the population on getting the vaccine. Several corporate entities also began similar pro-vaccine campaigns in the hope of creating confidence in the population to get vaccinated and therefore moving in the direction of re-opening the manufacturing sector. Our video was shared on our Facebook page and has been viewed over 19,700 times.
