Sunday September 15th 2017 saw SI Stockport & District hold a Charter lunch in celebration of its 79th year. Club members were joined by the Mayor of Stockport Councillor Linda Holt, Regional President Margaret Molyneux, Anne Quainoo, Past Regional President for SI NW England and the Isle of Man, as well a guests from neighbouring Clubs in the Region and a member from our friendship link Club in Buxton. Club President Eleanor Reakes thanked the many people who put the event together as well as our inspirational speakers and the Alma Lodge Hotel for a great lunch. The Callow Family provided fabulous musical entertainment that included Baroque music, Mozart and a modern piece for the Cor Anglais as well as a little Gibert & Sullivan. Daughter Emily sang a beautiful aria and is a talent that will go far in her chosen musical and theatre career.
President Eleanor’s table included a special guest Anne Brian, a longstanding Honorary member of SI Stockport & District, who had travelled 140 miles in order to attend the lunch and still had the return journey to undertake.
