May 2023: Independent Options are on the move and held a gathering of attendees and supporters to say thank you. Stockport SI Club members were pleased to be be invited!
With Mother’s Day/Mothering Sunday 2023 imminent our last contribution to Independent Options as they move premises and take our donated trees with them (!), is to locate and sort all those unused lipsticks we have around. These have formed a fabulous donation and will be appreciated given the costs of make-up these days.

Xmas 2022 saw SI Stockport once again organising gifts for the users of Independent Options.
SI Stockport continue to enjoy supporting Independent Options and this time we supported them with items for the tombola at The Pines Spring Fair. Ever popular are the knitted chicks and rabbits to ‘hide’ those little creme eggs so many love!
The Club were delighted to continue their support for Independent Options at Christmas 2021 with 60 gifts that included a selection box, book and fidget toy!

After many months users of Independent Options were able to meet with SI Stockport members in person and in house. Members who attended were touched by the genuine thanks that users felt for the gifts and outside developments that the Club has engaged with throughout lockdown. It shows!
And finally – 2 apple trees – with SI Stockport member and gardener (!) Joyce proudly displaying the results of all their hard work!
And so it is done!! Further help at Independent Options from a Soroptimister who constructed the vegetable planters, painted them and had them lined ready to be filled with soil…The children and families can start to enjoy growing vegetables and eating the products of their work.
With the aid of a willing Soroptimister members took part in improving the outdoor space that Independent Options (President’s charity choice) utilises for children and carers to enjoy the great outsoors. Nothing like a bit of weeding, planting and painting to freshen us up and lead to rosy cheeks!
