Since it opened in 1971 Soroptimists in Stockport been supporting St Ann’s Hospice in a variety of ways. The Hospice has provided much appreciated end of life and palliative care for a number of our members. We were keen to find ways to support them in their move to a new build in Spring 2026.
As part of their ‘Brick in the Wall’ campaign we have donated £1000 to cover the cost of a pallet of bricks. The Club’s name will appear on their new wall ensuring our links with the Hospice carry on in to the future.
Later this year the Hospice will become the Moya Cole Hospice to celebrate their inspirational founder, Dr Moya Cole. Our plan is to hold a fundraising event in the Hospice building in Spring of 2026 – do join us and keep an eye on this website for details.
Note the 4-lgged Soroptimist associate in the picture. This is Fergus and he is currently being assessed as a therapy dog, so may well play a part in helping future Hospice users.
