Some members visited the statue of Molly in Sunderland. We met with members from the Sunderland club which had been instrumental in erecting the statue to commemorate the work of women in the shipyards during the war. Afterwards we enjoyed coffee and scones in the cafe at the National Glass Centre.

On April 7 we held a fund raising event at Worsall Village Hall. We served coffee, tea and cakes. We were entertainedby the Eagle Ukes. There were items for sale and a raffle. The money raised will be given to Teesside Dementia Link Services.

At the regional meeting in March, our club secretary Joyce took over the job of regional president for a few months. The photo shows Martha Dewis handing over the chain.
At our March meeting we heard about Grow Baby International. Kat Dawson from Teesside Vineyard Church in Thornaby explained how the charity began and told us about the local branch at this church. For some months we have been gifting baby items, nappies, wipes etc and it was interesting to hear how the baby bank made use of them. Members had brought nappies in various sizes and baby wipes which Kat took away with her. Sue Scott chaired the meeting and after the talk welcomed Emily Greenhalgh as a new member.
Member Julie Everson handed 10 new start bags and 8 mobile phones to Cleveland Police. The bags will be used for victims of trafficking. Me
