Welcome to our Club

Welcome to the Soroptimist International (SI) Stockton-on-Tees website.  Our Club consists of like-minded, friendly ladies who work together to help to make a difference to the lives of others.  We do this through awareness raising, lobbying, practical support and fundraising.  Our membership is made up of ladies with a range of professions, job roles, skills, interests and hobbies – some working, some retired.  Many of our members carry out voluntary work.  We meet regularly in the evening at Stockton Library where we welcome guest speakers on a wide range of subjects predominantly affecting women and girls ranging from health and education to local charitable works and international programmes.

We also have social events and regular coffee mornings where we meet for informal discussions (chats!) and usually something good to eat too!  We support a range of projects including local organisations such as A Way Out, the Mary Thompson Fund, Stockton and Billingham Food Bank, Purple Rose and those further afield like the Meserani Project in Tanzania helping to  educate young people.  We also support Cleveland Police by providing new start bags for victims of trafficking and modern slavery. Some projects we choose ourselves and others support the work of the wider regional, national and international Soroptimist organisation.

New members are always welcome.  We are a friendly group and you will be sure of a warm welcome if you decide to join us.  If you would like to know more see our Contact Us page or email Soroptimist.stockton@gmail.com.  One of our group will be in touch and give you more information.  Please have a look at our website and consider becoming part of a world-wide group of women committed to making a difference.
