Club News old

As last year, we continue to hold our meetings over Zoom.  We have continued some of the projects that we started last year.
Rainbow Room

The Rainbow Room was set up in our local NHS trust hospital to provide an area of respite and relaxation for staff.  Every two months we supply toiletries, speciality teas, coffees and hot chocolate, plus chocolates and biscuits.

Stockton and Billingham Food Bank

Pre-pandemic we regularly supplied sanitary items to the food bank. Currently, every two months, the club donates non-perishable food items, toiletries, cleaning products, sanitary items. We have also supplied clothing or bedding in good condition. The demand on the food bank has grown greatly during this year.

Regional President Charity

One member, Joyce Chesney, had to cancel a fund raising afternoon tea during her year as regional president. A recent regional raffle enabled her to present a cheque for £600 to Butterwick Hospice Care on behalf of Stockton on Tees and the Northern Region. The money raised will be used for specialist mattresses at the Hospice, where Joyce is a regular volunteer.

Afternoon Tea

In September members were finally able to meet up for another fund raiser. Afternoon tea in a member’s garden raised  over £600 for Teesside Hospice. Our president, Chris, is a volunteer and has chosen this as her charity for the year.
