At the Soroptimist Southwest and Channel Islands Regional Meeting at Taunton on Saturday 21st November 2015. Daphne Dowsing was installed as President Elect for the South West Region. Daphne will take over the Role of Regional President in November 2016 for the 18 Soroptimist clubs in the Southwest Region.

Daphne says “Moving from Vice President to President Elect, means that I get more involved with the running of the Region. In February 2016, I meet with all the other Regional President Elects. It will be hosted by the Federation President Elect Ann Hodgson in London at Number 63 Bayswater Road. In March 2016 I will have a meeting with the Incoming Club Presidents during lunchtime at the Regional Meeting. I have to compile a questionnaire, then a report from all the Soroptimists Regional Clubs on their activities and membership during this year. During October I will be working with the other Regional Officers to set targets for my year for the Regional Development Plan. November 2016 I will be attending the Soroptimist  National Conference in Malta.
This is the Change over of Insignia and will be the start of my Presidential year. I am so looking forward representing all the members of our Region. I have been visiting some of the clubs and hope to visit all by November 2016. In the meantime as the Immediate Past President of Tiverton I am supporting our own events and fund raisers. Enjoying fun and friendship!”
Di Hill was installed as the Federation Councillor for the same Region. She says ” I feel privileged to have been elected as the South West and Channel Islands’ Federation Councillor.  My role is to act as an open communication line between this Region, our clubs and the Federation Management Board. I will be attending all Board meetings and reporting back to Region on the issues raised there and will advise the Board on matters that clubs and Region want me to bring to the Board’s attention.”

Both are members of Tiverton and District Soroptimists  who meet regularly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Best Western Tiverton Hotel.
