Torquay & District Soroptomist International held a coffee morning in October with members of the Torquay LIGHT group.
This is a small group of local people who have experienced Domestic Abuse who meet regularly to support each other and learn new skills. At the coffee morning we enjoyed delicious homemade cakes and coffee whilst we got to know six members of the group and learnt about the activities that they have planned over the next few months.
It is planned that we will have an ongoing relationship with the members, meeting at Rosegarth House and planning some joint activities such as cooking and knitting. We also hope to combine some of our own activities with the ladies such as knitting for the “Fish ‘n’ Chip Babies” born in some of the poorest areas of Africa who are wrapped in newspaper.
