Open evening 11th May 2026

We held our annual open evening on 11th May, and what a wonderful time we had. It was great to welcome so many of the organisations and volunteers we work with, including Whitley Bay Fiesta and The North Shields Heritology Project. These two groups make such a wonderful contribution to the community and we are proud to help them when we can.
We welcomed staff from Riverside Primary School who shared with us the work they have done in creating The Den, a sensory space which is already making a big difference to children. If you follow us, you might remember that raising funds for The Den was one of our biggest projects last year. The space looks wonderful and we’re delighted we could support this important resource for the school.
This year, we are supporting the much needed baby banks in our area. Fundraising is well underway and we’ve been able to buy essentials such as nappies, and donate baby clothing. The lovely volunteers from Tyneside Community Store and Little 1 Stop in North Shields joined us and gave us a marvellous insight into the work they do. We look forward to seeing them again and supporting their invaluable work.
Supporting SmartWorks is one of our ongoing projects, and fundraising for 50 pairs of shoes is also doing well. We had a sample on Monday night of what we’ll be taking to the SmartWorks office, to be part of their styling for interview collection.
We love open evening as it’s a chance to celebrate what we do and to celebrate our community. Thank you to everyone who came along to make it a very special evening.
