Message from President Sue- So far so Good.

Hello to anyone who finds themselves on our web site.Sorops skittles match 30-6-15

My name is Sue and I am the President of this lively club for the next 2 years.

I took over this role in April so I am half way through my first year, I have thoroughly enjoyed this time, and I have a sneaky feeling that the members of my club have too!!

We started my year with a really enjoyable tea party and plant sale at Adrienne’s home, the weather was perfect and we all loved sitting in the garden eating cakes and scones drinking tea and doing what we all do best…..chatting.

Our club’s annual Skirting Science event was held in June, I have added 2 photos of this event, one showing some school girls concentrating on the work shop they have chosen and the other where 2 of our members joined in with the food tasting, now everyone knows why you chose that one Janet and Heather!

We had a wonderful BBQ at Sue R’s home in July – Shelagh definitely enjoyed herself, and as she is my Vice President is this an indication of how your year will go Shelagh.

In August some club members met up with clubs in our area for a visit to St Fagans, the National Welsh Museum. We had perfect weather, we shared a wonderful picnic lunch together and we blown away with the gardens and history of the place.

In September I celebrated my 65th birthday by inviting the club to join me for a birthday supper followed by 2 local comediennes who entertained us.

Shortly after I had a holiday away with my wonderful husband who has supported me so well, so thank you to him.

Which really brings me to now, I have just returned from our Federation Conference in Newcastle, photo shows just a small part of the Sage Conference Centre full to overflowing with Soroptimists from all over our federation, plus our outgoing and incoming Regional Presidents.

I have come back tired, full of ideas, inspired and already looking forward to next year’s conference at Harrogate.

At our next meeting I am inducting 3 new members into our club, we are all busy making jams, jellies and crafts to sell to each other for Christmas, and now looking forward to our Christmas
Soirée at Melanie’s, where there will be eating, singing carols and maybe even a drink or two.

But for now, I’m off to bed for an early night as I am taking a group of my club members to Bristol tomorrow to a local market and sightseeing.

If you discover this page, Happy Christmas a Peaceful New Year, and if I’ve tempted you to come along to one of our meetings – you’d be made very welcome.

President Sue
