Weybridge & District Soroptimists welcome two new club members this quarter

In July Dorothy Clark welcomed Caroline Mushens to the Club. Caroline lives in Kingswood; married to David she was introduced to the club by a current member they were at school together and have been friends for over 50 years. Caroline has had a successful career in insurance working in the corporate sector and latterly running her own successful business. Caroline has a wealth of business expertise alongside time spent in education and the charity sector. She has a busy life with grandchildren, roles in the education sector and involvement with her industry. Ann will mentor Caroline as she joins our Soroptimist ranks.

This month October SIW&D were delighted to welcome new member Mary Lewis to the Club; Mary Lodge a founding member provided a warm Soroptimist welcome. Our new member will be mentored by Alexis. Mary is based on Cobham and married to David. They have three grown children. Mary has worked in marketing and PR in corporations and theatre and after studying for a PGCE she taught to Key Stage 4 and at A Level in schools locally for a number of years. Mary has lived in several parts of the UK and overseas. More recently her work has included taking public office as a County Councillor and SCC Cabinet Member, working with refugees teaching English and leading and supporting the community services with a focus on education and children.  Since attending club meetings Mary has been a club volunteer monitor on the national SDVC project. We are so delighted to have a second new member this quarter, Mary already brings a fresh perspective to our projects.
