The Weybridge and District club is managed by the Executive Committee . The committee works together to organise the annual club programme and oversee the running of club meetings and activities. All members are encouraged to be involved in as wide a range of activities and projects as possible whilst recognising the personal constraints of work and family commitments.
The club has a major ongoing project with Burhill Community Infants school where we assist with a wide range of activities from hearing children read to gardening and the provision of trees for the grounds. Our fundraising includes an ongoing project to raise funds for the education of two girls orphaned by the Tsunami in Sri Lanka. We are currently running a series of small events to aid the Sam Beare Hospice. Soroptimist projects we support include the International Presidents appeal ‘Birthing in the Pacific’, which provides education and basic equipment for birth assistants which can save the lives of many women in this region.
We have a comprehensive programme that covers service activities, fundraising, social events and supports our international friendship links. For further details see the Diary page for the latest programme information.
