On December 9th, the 15 day of  #16daysofactivism #Soroptimists support women to progress and their efforts to make safe places for themselves at work. As more women find space at the work place, and make positive progress towards leadership roles, they are faced with challenges. Women are targeted for their gender and for progressive roles they have adopted. Female employees suffer harassment. Laws of Prevention of Harassment at work place are in place but more needs to be done. Soroptimists Believe they can Achieve success. #Orangetheworld at #Generationequality #16Daysofactivism #Metoo

#SIMeal4Another   Brenda reported at the 2020 #Soroptimists AGM that for the first time a #foodbank had been established in Weybridge to aid individuals and families in #foodpoverty locally. The #SIWeybridge & District Club is ‘taking action’ to raise much needed funds for the local food bank with a view to making a donation of cash in mid June. The money is being raised by pledges from SI current and retired members of the Club. As we cannot run face to face meetings the cost ‘saving’ from our meals will be donated to fund a “#SIWeybridgeMeal4Another“. Watch and follow to find out how much we have been pledged and donated so far and the impact it has had… Maybe other clubs might do the same? The Trussell Trust is always keen for donations. Through this support we help women bringing up families to educate, feed

Congratulations to club member Jeannie for her efforts in sewing scrubs and bags for local NHS staff. Members supported her effort financially and truly professional scrubs and wash bags were supplied to a local practice and hospital in May this year 2020.
