I’m Anne Griffith, and I am married with 3 grown-up children living in
Spain, New York and London. I’ve been a Soroptimist since 2006 and
NEVER imagined I would be Club President, but somehow here I am. I’ve
recently started Zumba and Pilates in order to keep my strength up for
the year ahead!
My background is in teaching, specifically in Dyslexia tuition and
English as an Additional Language but now I’m enjoying the busy and
very varied life of a Soroptimist. My theme for the year is “Let’s use
our skills to bring dignity to others”,and I hope S.I. Bangor will do
this through our support for Mary’s Meals, Young Carers, Teams4U and
Freedom From Fistula. I’d like to balance fundraising with practical
action and have deliberately chosen my charities to fit in with
Programme Focus areas so we’ll be lobbying, marching, re-cycling,
knitting and soup-making, to name just a few activities in an
atmosphere of fun and friendship, within our Club and with cluster
Clubs too. HAPPY NEW SOROPTIMIST YEAR EVERYONE!
