What a wonderful day we all had again at Diane’s beautiful home in Benllech on Saturday 12 August.
We enjoyed a scrumptious afternoon tea washed down with a cool glass of Prosecco (or mocktail!). It was a lovely get-together and so good to catch up and chat with friends. Honorary Member Enid joined us and enjoyed the company too. Jenie’s lovely crafts were sold together with a variety of colourful plants donated by members and of course a VERY well supported raffle. A very big ‘thank you’ to Diane and her helpers for organising the event and to Sue who organised ‘Rondo’ a major UK independent multi-genre production company for sponsoring our delicious teas prepared by Becws Mon. We raised an amazing £946.00 for President Marianne’s charity.
Diane provided everyone with beautiful orange fans – the 25th of every month is Orange Day, and SIGBI launched a new initiative on 25 May 2023, for Soroptimists to hold an ‘Orange Cafe’ (members meet for chat and coffee) and this initiative is to raise awareness to end violence against women and children. Many thanks to Jenny for the beautiful ‘orange’ themed table decorations, it was a very thoughtful and hospitable afternoon.
