Members Kathy, Linda and Avril recently travelled to Germany to join in the celebrations of Itzehoe Soroptimist club celebrating their 20th anniversary.
When the Itzehoe club was formed in 2006, the town had an active twinning link with Cirencester therefore, it made sense to form a Friendship Link between the two Soroptimist clubs. There has been an active hosting exchange between members since.
In addition to an evening of friendship and entertainment, our German friends organised a weekend of activities … eating and drinking in a local wine bar, a visit to the church, a tour of the town with the emphasis on important women throughout their history and a visit to an arts centre created in an old cement works.
We look forward to hosting our German sisters from Itzehoe for our 80th in two years time

S.I. Cirencester has a friendship link with S.I. Itzehoe since 2008 when Councillors and friends visited the town as part of the 25 years of twinning with our two towns, members of S.I. Cirencester and S.I. Itzehoe meet up as part of this celebration and a friendship link was set up
Our last visit to the town was in 2019
