Donating “Christmas Dinner” money to the Food Bank in Cirencester

Instead of treating ourselves to an expensive Christmas Dinner at a smart hotel Cirencester Soroptimists had a home made Christmas Party at the C-Hub, where we meet regularly and will donate the money collected to the Cirencester Food Bank after Christmas, to support families in the New Year
On Friday, members from Cirencester Soroptimists supported the Town Band at their “Christmas Cracker”, this year in aid of Cirencester Opportunity Group

The Cirencester Opportunity Group (COD) is close to our hearts and we support the project throughout the year from The Dorothy Minnis Trust, our own charity
… and on Saturday evening
Cirencester Soroptimists have for several years supported Longfield Community Hospice and so it was no surprise that several members attended the “Spectacular Winter Concert” held by Cirencester Male Voice Choir on Saturday 6th December in aid of the hospice. Held in the impressive Parish Church, the concert featured guest performers The Gwalia Singers, another male voice choir from Wales, and the Wiltshire Piano Duo, James Wiltshire and Philippa Harrison. James Willshire is also the music director and conductor of Cirencester Male Voice Choir. A delightful addition, filling in at short notice was Hilary Perfect, a young soprano still at school, but with bags of talent, presence and a great future I believe. Great entertainment, especially when the two choirs combined to sing Cwy Rhondda as a finale. Members were happy to support the hospice in this way. Hope they did well.
