President Pat’s PowerPoint presention
President Pat made a speech at the beginning of the meeting Text of Pat’s presentation before conducting us through the General Meeting and all the Resolutions concerning changes to the Constitution that carry most important messages to the way Soroptimists work together; reaching and supporting our club structures, our recruitment of new members and the way we organise ourselves to be responsive and flexible in a changing world.
Accounts for 2012-13 are in good order and have returned good results. The accounts were accepted by 99%. The auditor was re-appointed by 99% of the vote..
Capitation will increase by 10% for Bands 1, 2 and 3. Band 4 by the rate of inflation.
All the proposers of the Resolutions were given time to present their cases and all three Resolutions, plus their accompanying amendments, were passed.
The major changes remove unnecessary wording and allow recruitment of all women who want to make a contribution to Soroptimism. They also encourage individual clubs to make decisions about their structure and the number of executive posts they require as well as ensuring we protect our emblem and logo.
