President Sue and Christobel - waiting for the rush
President Sue and Christobel – waiting for the rush

Club members had a very busy time on the 18th July when we held a Coffee Morning and Light Lunch and Bric-a-Brac stall event at the Wesley Chapel, Oxford Street  in Harrogate. The money is  for the Club’s Charity Fund so we can continue to make a difference to the lives of women and children, globally and locally.

Some of the charities and causes we  have or continue to support from this Fund include: Age UK,  Alzheimer’s Society, British Heart Foundation, British Legion Poppy Appeal (we lay wreaths on the main memorials throughout the district on Remembrance Sunday), Carers Resource, Citizens Advice Bureau, Harrogate at Christmas, Harrogate Homeless Hostel, Martin House Hospice, St Michael’s Hospice, Women’s Refuge and Yorkshire Cancer Research

We also have specific fund raising events for specific charities and organisations such as Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, Our Angels, See Solar, Cook Solar, Ghurka Widows and the Open Arms Orphanage in Malawi
