Member Myra decided that she would like to celebrate the club’s 70th anniversary year by making 70 jars of jam which she would sell to fellow Soroptimists, family and friends. She actually made over 100 jars of raspberry, strawberry and rhubarb jam as well as some marmalade. This is an excellent total as Myra was in a lot of pain at the start of the process due to a recent knee operation
Member Roberta commented that she had bought three jars of jam and they were all excellent and that her grandson had insisted on going home with one of her jars after sampling a raspberry sandwich.
The proceeds of the sale will be going to this year’s President’s charity, Maggie’s Centre, Kirkcaldy which supports anyone with cancer and their families, both in person and online.
