Some club members with the items they donated to Kirkcaldy Foodbank To mark Fairtrade Fortnight (27 Feb – 12 March) Club members agreed to search for Fairtrade items to donate to Kirkcaldy Foodbank. Unfortunately they found this task more difficult than they expected, with some major supermarkets selling not much more than bananas, tea and coffee which are Fairtrade. Muriel will deliver the food to the Foodbank the next day and it will be very quickly given out to needy individuals and families in Kirkcaldy.

Maria McGill with President-Elect Heather Stewart At our meeting on 23 January CHAS Chief Executive Officer, Maria McGill, gave members an informative, sincere and very moving talk. She highlighted the many aspects of her work and recalled happy memories staff share with the families they meet. CHAS is a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people who have life-shortening incurable conditions. CHAS runs two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch, a home care service called CHAS at Home and employs Diana Children’s Nurses. Their services are funded mainly through the generosity of supporters who help raise the vital funds needed to provide these hospice services.   Save
