Annette Davies of SI Medway and Maidstone and Christine Cole of SI Chaguanas from Trinidad and Tobago met at the London Conference in November. This chance meeting led to a discussion about having a Friendship Link between our two clubs.
This proposal was agreed by all members at our December meeting. Our Friendship Link Officer Julia Search followed up completing the application online. Within weeks this was approved, and a Friendship Certificate received. SI Chaguanas posted the exciting news on their Facebook page about our new Friendship Link.
Our first Zoom Friendship Link Get Together for 2024 was held on 22 January and 3 members of SI Chaguanas joined us. Also in attendance were members of our other Friendship Link clubs from SI Accra, SI Heswall, SI Osnabruck, and SI Voorburg. It was an ideal opportunity for us all to start to get to know each other, find out about each other’s programme action work and share ideas.
