Why did Soroptimists Donate Easter Eggs to Byron School?

Byron Primary School in Gillingham have been selling raffle tickets to raise money to buy some taps for schools. This is in association with WaterAid and to link to World Water Day on 22 March.

The children at Byron are reminded that water is vital, as well as hygiene and this is a great opportunity to enable some children in other parts of the world to have access to both. The school plans to raise £350 to achieve their goal.

To encourage all the pupils to buy tickets then there are multiple prizes for each class. The Medway and Maidstone Soroptimists who regularly support Byron donated 37 eggs from members. This included 10 eggs kindly donated by the Community Champion at Morrisons Strood.

We wish them every success and look forward to hearing if they achieve their goal. This will be building on their success last year when they managed to raise enough money to twin 10 toilets that led with our combined efforts to make Medway a Toilet Twinned Town.
