We meet at Bamber Bridge Methodist Church on Wednesdays –
the first and third of most months at 7.30pm. The first meeting is our Business Meeting and the third is a social event – generally a speaker but sometimes it can be just a get together to catch up with each other or a chance to do some of our project work.
Our first speaker meeting this year is Gemma Roberts the manager of Safenet, the DV refuge in Preston. On May 15th, one of our own members – Lynn Yates who is a trustee of Partners in Education Swaziland (PIES) – will be giving us an update on the charity as she will have just returned from a trip out there.
19th June sees us holding a fundraising afternoon tea at The Mill at St Catherine’s. It’s in aid of breast cancer research. We all know of someone who has had breast cancer – it’s such a worthwhile cause. We hope to raise a lot of money.
September 18th is a talk from MAF – Mission Aviation Fellowship – an excellent charity who deliver just about anything anywhere in the world.
Our October 16th meeting is a Bollywood night. Not sure what we’ll be doing but it sounds fun.
Our November meeting will be a festive affair – filling the gift bags.
Then all of a sudden it’s 2025! Our February meeting is a talk from the North West Air Ambulance.
And in between all of this we have a summer social, a Christmas get together and various outings when the mood takes us.
