We meet at Bamber Bridge Methodist Church on Wednesdays –
the first and third of most months at 7.30pm. The first meeting is our Business Meeting and the third is a social event – generally a speaker but sometimes it can be just a get together to catch up with each other or a chance to do some of our project work.
We’ve just booked our speakers and organised the programme for 2026 – 2027 and it’s going to be brilliant.
April 15th – Maureen McFarlane is coming to tell us about the trials and tribulations and, no doubt, good points too, about life as a JP.
May 20th – Tender Nursing Care – based in Bamber Bridge and who do a sensational job are coming to talk about the charity.
June 17th – we are having a ‘Light Lunch for a Good Cause’. It’s a fundraising event for Hope Prevails – a domestic violence charity based in Preston. It’s a small and dynamic organisation who do wonderful work. It’s at Hurst Grange Park cafe in Penwortham.
September 19th – Brian Topping is making a return journey to tell us about his life as a customs officer. He came in 2025 and gave us a really excellent talk so he’s now on to Part 2 with ‘A World of Mules and Minders.
October 21st – our own member Maureen is going to tell us about her working life as a nurse. Ok – and? Maureen worked in countries like Rwanda and Nairobi as a midwife. She’s delivered hundreds of babies, seen things normal widwives don’t see and has lots to tell us.
November 18th – will be our annual Christmas bag packing evening. The festive period starts now.
Then all of a sudden it’s 2027…..
February 17th will be a Tropic Party. Friends, family and neighbours will be invited to come and be pampered.
And in between all of this we have a summer social, a Christmas get together and various outings when the mood takes us.
Everyone is welcome. Please come and join us.
