Twenty Seventh, Eighth & Ninth photos were taken at Paisley’s Reclaim the Night March, 28 11 2025. The wreath, donated by SI Paisley, was laid by the Provost beside the memorial in memory of all women who have lost their lives due to abuse, violence.
Sadly, SI Paisley closed on 31 03 2026, following a Celebration Lunch held on 29 03 2026, to mark 80years of service.

Update on the 90kg Kilombero Rice Challenge, from True Origin, (previously known as Just Trading Scotland), 4 08 2026:
Example of the 90kg Kilombero Rice Challenge:
Many members will remember that SI Hamilton members sold 90kg Kilombero rice at the SIGBI Federation Conference Glasgow 2015. 90kg was the amount of rice a farmer in northern Malawi had to sell to pay for a child’s secondary school education for one year at that time and since.
90kg Kilombero Rice Challenge now “retired”!
From January 2026, the Government of Malawi began introducing free secondary education in state schools, abolishing tuition fees, and from April 2026, removing many other charges including examination fees.
