Federation President Cathy Cottridge joined the afternoon session of the Regional meeting on 24 September. She spoke frankly about the Strategy and Vision for the future of the organisation. The focus on strategies for increasing active membership whilst reducing the demographic age profile with the creation of e-clubs, school clubs and new smaller hubs.
Ensuring the programme work reflects the Charitable purpose and supports the United Nations 5Ps (People, Prosperity, Planet, Peace, Partnerships) and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We also explored strategies for developing and raising awareness of the amazing advocacy work of clubs across the country.
President Cathy presented long service certificates to Janet Garnons-Williams (SI Medway and Maidstone) for 40 years service, Hilary Rowberry (SI East Grinstead) and Denise Staplehurst (SI Eastbourne) both for 25 years service. Well done on 90 years of service to your clubs, Region and Federation – a great achievement….!!
As the meeting closed then President Cathy was off to East Grinstead club who were celebrating the 60th anniversary of their charter.
